College Basketball Promo

How do you make a basketball promo with almost no footage? That was the challenge I faced when practically entire new teams of players were recruited one year and we had no footage of them in action. Heaven help us if we used stuff from a previous year with someone who was no longer on the team!

My answer lay in this great wealth of stock footage we’d recently acquired. Sure, none of it was college basketball related, but why should that stop me? Come up with a good concept and you can make almost anything work. Here was my attempt at it. We got more calls about these spots than any others I produced. Good calls too. They mostly wanted to know who did the music.
